VOGRIE RIDING SCHOOL
Teaching at it's best!
Riding School

The riding school has been established to provide an opportunity for clients to learn to ride the horses and ponies properly rather than simply being a passenger. Our techniques ensure that clients develop a deep seat and good balance vital to safety when on a horse or pony. Whilst the teaching is quite technical it is proving to be very popular to all age groups. We take children from 4 years old. Your initial lesson will be an assesment to see what level your riding is (unless a complete beginner) and then offered a place in an appropriate class. We encourage groups to come at the same time every week or fortnight in order to progress the learning rather than being held back by someone less able. Our clients vary from complete beginners to proficient riders so there is a suitable class for everyone.

We also offer fitness training "Equifit"TM specifically aimed at improving your riding skills whilst not in the saddle. Our resident fitness instructor will be happy to assess you and offers either one to one sessions, or class groups. Fitness and strength are of great importance to successful horse riding.

We have quality surfaces on our schools, a full set of colourful showjumps, and acres of beautiful countryside to ride around, including Vogrie Country Park.

For those that wish to hack out, we have lots of different routes including miles of bridal paths known ans the Tyne Esk Trail which was formed by the British Horse Sociaty. For the more experienced rider there are fields and safe tracks ideal for riding at canter or gallop.

Our services are fairly simply broken down as follows.

  • Lead rein Hack  approx 30 mins. No instruction. £15
  • Group lesson (maximum of 4 in the class) approx 60mins from mount to dismount. £30
  • Hacking Out. (Maximum of 6 in the ride plus leader) Approx 60 mins. £30 (longer hacks available).
  • Can provide other combinations to suit so please just ask.
